Abstract :
This paper illustrates the Finite-element Method of shipping shaft alignment calculation and studies on shipping shaft system alignment calculation taking into account the hull distortion. The proper software is impoldered which gets rid of the problems of complexity and inaccuracy when the traditional Three Bending Moment Method or Transition Matrix Method is used and discussed in the paper. Basis on the above this paper puts forward measurement of main engine installing distortion and reducing bearing number. The theory analysis and example calculation are carried on at the same time. The result shows that the load of each stern bearing and the last main bearing are 250 kN, 138 kN, 118 kN and 169 kN respectively in shaft system cold state and the load of each stern bearing and the last main bearing are 100 kN, 232 kN, 159 kN and 0 kN respectively in shaft system hot state. The load of each bearing is improved fairly. So this is a very affective method to resolve the shipping shaft system alignment calculation for large vessel being hull distortion influencing.
