Abstract :
In this paper, joint quantization of pitch and gain shape parameters is proposed to exploit the coherence between them and the synthesis speech quality at 600bps is improved. Considering the different importance of parameters, a weighted distortion measure is defined. The weight is gradually determined based on the influence on speech quality. Experimental results show that the PESQ of 600bps speech coder can achieve 2.84.
