Abstract :
The sensitivity of phase retrieval antenna near-field/far-field predictions to scanning errors is investigated. It is shown that phase retrieval is considerably more tolerant to planarity errors than conventional near-field/far-fleld methods and in this respect is superior for mm and sub-mm wave antennas. Similar improvements apply to cylindrical scanning but the effects are not so important since the radial distance variations will be small. Errors in (x,y) and (¿,z) produce similar errors in both phase retrieval and conventional near-field/far-field predictions.
