Abstract :
A novel hybrid clamped topology of multilevel converter is presented in the paper. This topology of the multilevel converter is based on conventional clamped topologies. The balancing of the DC link capacitor voltages and the limitation of the voltage blocking capability of the fast devices are two crucial problems for the application of clamped multilevel converters. The proposed hybrid clamped topology is aiming at solving these two problems. Simulation validation is also carried out in this paper.
