Abstract :
Orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) is a spectrally efficient technique for wireless communication systems. However, its high peak to average power ratio (PAPR) is the major drawback. Recently the phase reversal (PR) scheme has been proposed for reducing PAPR. In this paper, we propose a modified PR scheme called the iterative PR scheme to reduce PAPR more effectively. As a result, better bit error rate (BER) performance can be obtained by allowing the use of fewer side information bits. We compare and analyze the performance of PAPR and BER for both schemes by computer simulations.
