Abstract :
This study applies GIS and RUSLE to analyzing the soil loss characteristics of Kyirong County in Tibet. The results show: (1) the R value is about 212.95 MJ·mm/(hm2·h·a). (2) average K value is about 0.332 t·hm2· h/(hm2·MJ·mm). (3) The average slope length is about 954.60m. And the average LS value is about 0.49. (4) the average annual soil loss of Kyirong County is about 4157.38 t/km2·a which is medium in intensity classification of soil loss. (5) The east-north of this county have less soil loss which is primarily slight degree. And the west and south of this county is mostly the intense degree. (6) The spatial soil loss distribution shows typical characteristics by comparing different slopes, elevation and land use types.
