Abstract :
The ambiguity functions associated with three types of phase-encoded quantized linear FM (QLFM-PSK) signals are considered. The signals are classified according to their method of phase encoding. Significant range-Doppler sidelobe magnitude reduction is obtained when phase encoding is applied among the frequency subpulses of the QLFM-PSK signals. Application of phase encoding to each of the individual frequency subpulses is found to reduce the width of the ambiguity function sidelobe peaks
