Abstract :
The US military has developed MIL-STD-464 to provide the requirements for lighting strikes and other EM effects to systems. MIL-STD-464 performance based requirements result in assessment of operational performance of the system to allocate the specific direct and indirect effects of lighting. This paper explores a novel approach to allocation of operational performance requirements for aircraft systems when struck by lightning.
