Abstract :
This paper deals with channel equalization and cross talk cancellation for high density optical recording. The performance of both linear and decision feedback adaptive equalization is evaluated. Maximum likelihood sequence estimation is also considered. To cope with interference from adjacent tracks, an algorithm for cross talk cancellation based on a three spot detection system is analyzed
