Abstract :
Practical approaches are provided to projecting traffic growth for a new cellular system, determining growth statistics for existing systems, presenting criteria for transitioning from omnidirectional to sectored cells, providing guidelines for cell splitting, and proposing methods for the overall analysis of system traffic performance. The results provide the engineer with some simplified methods that can improve overall system performance
