  • Abstract
In this paper a system utilizing inertial sensors for the 3D tracking of upper limb movement in neuro-rehabilitation is presented. Both inertial tracking and kinematic modeling algorithms are adopted in the motion monitoring system. Experiments are carried out to evaluate the performance of the tracking system. The results show that the system is capable of providing accurate displacement measurements of upper limb movement when the kinematic model is applied. This system can measure position to within 0.5 cm over a period of 25 seconds estimated through the kinematic modeling.
