Abstract :
Intra-prediction is an important feature in H.264/AVC video coding standard, which raises the compression ratio, but increases the computing complexity as well. Based on the analysis of the features of Intra_4 ×4 and Intra_16 ×16, a threshold and Integer Transform is proposed to save computation. Then, the algorithm for intra-prediction mode decision is modified. The experimental results show that the proposed algorithm can increase the speed of intra coding significantly with negligible loss of PNSR and a few increase of bite rate.
