Abstract

The Co-Driver Alert project is developing a demonstration of an after market in-vehicle hazard alert system suitable for deployment in the UK. The project is being undertaken by a consortium of UK organisations including ITS infrastructure providers, a telematics systems manufacturer, automotive systems experts and academic research institutes with support from InnovITS. The paper describes the objectives of the project and areas where it is unique, the technical challenges, the architecture of the system and the initial results.
