Abstract :
Analog-to-digital converters that employ dynamics and oversampling in conjunction with low-rate quantizers are becoming increasingly popular in digital signal processing and computer control applications. In this paper we analyze the behavior of such converters using techniques from dynamical systems theory. Among our results are assertions about the stability and limit cycle behavior of sigma-delta modulators driven by bounded deterministic inputs
