Abstract
This paper describes the design of a test system for dead-end proton exchange membrane fuel cells (PEMFC). As the requirement, an electronic load with quick dynamic response and wide adjustable range is designed, which provides various loads for the test system. A monitor for hydrogen pressure, air mass flow, temperature and humidity inside is used to maintain the stability of PEMFC. The test system developed has been in use to test the performance of the dead-end PEMFC in Fuel Cell Application Center. The result shows that it meets the design requirements and has an excellent performance.
