Abstract :
This paper presents a quantitative approach to evaluate the impact of wavelet basis on vibration analysis of rolling bearings based on cross-correlation measure. As a basic tool to investigate the relationship between two data sequences from the viewpoint of statistics, the cross-correlation analysis is able to characterize the performance difference among various wavelet bases when analyzing the vibration signals. Experimental study has verified that the cross-correlation measure provides quantitative guidance to selecting base wavelet for better defect diagnosis of rolling bearings.
