Abstract
Based on an approach to the design of observers for stochastic-parameter systems, this paper presents a fault detection and diagnosis method for uncertain linear systems. Using a formulation as described by Yaz (1987), a detection residual signal is formed which gives the failure occurrence information when the system parameters are subject to multiplicative as well as additive noise components
