Abstract
This study presented a condition-based maintenance (CBM) method for generator´s insulation faults based on radio frequency (RF) monitoring technique and fuzzy inference technique. As an on-line condition monitor and the precondition of CBM, the RF monitor used the high frequency current mutual inductor to detect the partial discharge signal from neutral wire of stator windings. For analyzing condition data better, a fuzzy expert system was also proposed to diagnose the insulation faults. The practices show that the proposed method integrates the RF monitoring technique good with the fuzzy inference technique, and it is effective.
