Abstract :
A robust method of beam pattern ing is discussed in this paper. The method achieves required s in the specified directions by perturbing the amplitudes and the phases of the aperture distribution coefficients of the sum and difference beams. The technique is flexible enough to handle a very wide variety of pattern ing problems since it minimizes antenna sidelobe levels in specified directions while maximizing antenna pattern gain. The theory can be applied to discrete-angle ing for the sum beam, the difference beam, sum and difference beams simultaneously, as well as wide-angle ing.
