Abstract :
Presently, a widely used method to compress signal with linear frequency modulation is based on DSP and realized by software. This way not only has no advantages on real-time operations but also has high requirement of hardware quantity in the case of processing large FFT points. To overcome these shortcomings, we have proposed a new method to achieve the pulse compression of LFM (Linear Frequency Modulated) signal through FPGA as well as the simulation results. In contrast with using DSP, our new method which uses FPGA has a much better performance on reliability, speed and a lower demand of hardware quantity.
