Abstract :
In plain area, the fluctuation of terrain is flat, and the difference of elevation is less. Now, using contour line or TIN to display this flat area is not fit for mapping or digital terrain analysis. Especially it would take some mistakes about these applications. This method is established in vector data of plain area, through a ladder terrain expression, could visually show microtopography of plain. This paper could offer a kind of idea or reference for plain area mapping.
