  • Abstract
In electricity markets, the network is expected to transfer more power to promote profit, but the transfer capability will be affected by uncertainties. In order to quantify the probability and consequence of these uncertainties, the theory of risk is proposed to assess the available transfer capability (ATC). The means clustering method is used to layer the ATC values considering the uncertainties. In single-sided auction Pool, the stratification evaluation of ATC profit and risk model is proposed, then the economic available transfer capability (EATC) can be achieved. The IEEE-RTS79 test system is used to verify the presented approach. The results show that ATC risk assessment can give consideration to economy and security of power system and provide reference to system operator.
