  • Abstract
    Satellite system can provide a high quality broadband communication services especially in the Internet access and multimedia applications. In order to realize an optimized system design, a novel design concept for broadband multimedia satellite system was proposed from Internet point of view. Based on the design concept a MAC protocol called RA-CFDAMA (random access-combined free/demand assigned multiple access) which is based on the CFDAMA (combined free/demand assigned multiple access) was proposed. Simulation shows that the protocol can get a better performance than the previous one.
