Abstract :
In current Content-Centric Networking (CCN), client receives contents via broadcasting interest request, replacing the typical point-to-point communication in traditional TCP/IP. However, original CCN has drawbacks like low network utilization and packets redundancy in some scenarios. This paper proposes Status-Based Content Sharing Mechanism (SBCSM) for CCN, which helps reducing redundant CCN-packet traffic by choosing the most suitable content-source based on server´s status. To demonstrate our work, we develop a file-sharing application using SBCSM, and test it in different topology and demand scenarios. The evaluation show a promising result that the SBCSM achieve better performance in network utilization, with 20% dropping of overheads and 50% higher transfer rate, comparing to traditional CCN routing mechanism.
