Abstract :
Wind hazard is the one which has the widespread influence in natural disasters. Transmission towers have experienced a number of failures due to downburst wind events in recent years, with devastating economical and social consequences. Based on the mechanism of downburst wind load, the present paper proposes an AR model method of adding turbulence to the non-turbulent wind speed. The various aspects of the model are then integrated to create a method suitable for generating wind speed time histories for the dynamic analysis of high-rise structures subjected to downburst winds.
