Abstract :
Reliable control has been brought to attention by its contribution to system design according to the IEC 61508 international standard on system safety. This paper systematizes reliable control by clarifying its essence and meanings in accordance with the policy of IEC 61508. The systematization is indispensable for its further advances as the social environment surrounding system safety.
