Abstract :
High peak-to-average power ratio (PAPR) is a major drawback in OFDM systems, which increases complexity of the analog-to-digital converter and reduces efficiency of the high power amplifier (HPA). The dummy sequence insertion (DSI) structure is a method without side information and changing signal shape to reduce peak-to-average power ratio (PAPR) of orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) signal. In this paper, a novel dummy sequence generator for DSI method is investigated to reduce the complexity and more effectively mitigate the PAPR problem in OFDM systems. Computer simulation shows that the proposed solution performs better than that of the conventional methods.
