Abstract
The propagation of Love-waves is greatly affected by the physical properties of the substance present at the surface of the waveguide through which the waves propagate. In this contribution we investigate the applicability of Love waves for the realization of a micro detector which monitors the phase transition of water to ice. Experimental results show the ice-detection capability of a Love-wave oscillator.
