Abstract :
This paper is concerned with one problem in the quality control of skis. Our study carries out the global assessment of the conformity of a ski, with regard to basic features, which are evaluated by performance indicators. The parameters evaluated are often imprecise and vague. Thus, we propose to apply the fuzzy subset theory, on the one hand, to describe the parameters handled, and on the other hand, to aggregate them, owing to a rule-based mechanism. A numeric representation of the rules allows the handling of the imprecision related to the functional features of the skis, while a symbolic one handles the vagueness of the aesthetic features. Finally, we use a symbolic defuzzification function to obtain numeric performances, which lead to the classification of the skis
