  • Abstract
Artifact-centric management of business workflow is facing many significant challenges, a key issue in addressing these challenges is to map logical workflow specification into executable workflow system. In the automated realization of mapping ArtiFlow specification into BPEL, business process described by ArtiFlow is extremely meticulous that leads to much difficult in realization. Hence we propose some strategies to optimize the ArtiFlow model, in which ServiceFlow is introduced. In this paper, we first present some strategies used to optimize services in ArtiFlow; secondly, the formal model of ServiceFlow is given; and then, we present a two-layer algorithm used to realize the transformation between ArtiFlow model and ServiceFlow model. Finally, in order to use BPEL to orchestrate services correctly, we apply Petri Net to analyze the possible executable services paths that artifacts “moving” in the ArtiFlow.
