  • Abstract
    The impact of system configuration on the performance of failure detection and isolation (FDI) is discussed for the model-based FDI scheme. It is shown that as one designs a robust control system, properly setting the system configuration will simultaneously enhance the performance of model-based failure detection. Furthermore, an approach is proposed to configure a feedback control system with model uncertainties, so that the system has not only the stability robustness, but also the performance robustness in failure detection
