Abstract :
A biosensor for detecting phytotoxic or nutrient substances in water has been developed. It utilizes a thin film of unicellular algae whose growth and photosynthetic efficiency are related to water chemical composition. Two versions of the sensor are described. The first one is a modified dissolved oxygen sensor (Clark cell), the second one uses infrared chlorophyll fluorescence
