Abstract :
Synchrotron radiation is a main concern in the design of the Superconducting Super Collider (SSC). One solution to this problem is to install the intercepts to absorb radiation at a temperature above that of liquid helium. Several physics issues associated with intercepts, including the RF impedance, vacuum, etc., are discussed. Various types of intercepts are compared.<>
