Abstract :
This paper presents the detailed microwave characterization of a highly-integrated silicon bipolar single-chip RF transceiver. The chip offers a direct conversion architecture with a standard I/Q baseband interface for both receive and transmit paths. A limiter/discriminator is integrated for comparative heterodyne demodulation application. The on-chip voltage-controlled oscillator, phase shifter (divider by two) and the dual-modulus prescaler form the RF-section of the frequency synthesizer.
