Abstract
A novel fault location algorithm has been proposed in this paper based on two-terminal unsynchronized data. This algorithm takes advantage of the characteristics of wavelet transform which can detect the singularity of signal to analyze two-terminal sampled data so as to find the beginning moment of two-terminal fault and calculate the unsynchronized angle, and then further calculate the location of fault. The results show that this method can effectively offset the impact of two-terminal unsynchronized data on fault location.Even if the GPS has been ineffective for a long time, this algorithm can also locate the fault precisely.
