Abstract :
This paper investigates a quadrature directional coupler designed on the basis of two-dimensional electromagnetic field of a rectangular disk configuration, theoretically and experimentally. The present coupler, in particular, is useful for an application to a relatively tight coupling to the extent of about ¿10 dB. A method of flattening the frequency characteristics of the coupling also is shown.
