Abstract :
Among the multiple multi-carrier modulation systems, the most sophisticated and classical system is orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM). However the emerging system wavelet packet multi-carrier modulation (WP-MCM), because of its obvious advantage, is gaining the scholars´ concern rapidly. In this paper, two systems mentioned above were analyzed in detail from the theoretical foundation and the model structure, and then the comparison between them were made to manifest their traits. The application of OFDM in IEEE 802.11a were also be analyzed by calculating. Finally sum up the two systems and give the prospects of them.
