Abstract :
With the rapidly development of freeway in China in recent years, the investigation of asphalt pavement performance whether in south China or in north China shows that asphalt pavement appears more or less water damage after the road has opened to traffic for one year or so. The paper analyzes the early water damage of asphalt pavement of Nanchang-Zhangshu freeway in Jiangxi Province. According to the different kinds diseases of asphalt pavement caused by early water damage, such as pumping, loose, segregation, rut, pot holes and so on, the paper analyzes the relationship between the diseases and the water damage, puts forward some treatment technology measures and construct requirements for median, catch water well, material design of pavement surface over-layer and road special position as sag vertical curves. At last, the paper puts the treatment technology and measures in practice combining with Chang-Zhang freeway maintains engineering, nearly two years service performance of the test road shows that the measures have good effect for reducing early water damage of asphalt pavement. And these have some reference value for preventing early water damage of asphalt pavement.
