Abstract :
Proposed microring-based modulator and demodulator of DPSK data format can be a thousand times smaller than conventional scheme (Mach-Zehnder modulator + delay interferometer). With optimized Q-factor of 22000, back-to-back power penalty is diminished to 0.8-dB.
