  • Abstract
The singularity induced bifurcations (SIB) of differential algebraic equations (DAE) and their occurrence in power systems are analyzed. An effective and systematic method for tracing singular points (SP) and SIB points of the DAE model of power system is presented. Firstly, the singular points of the DAE model of power system are calculated by using iterative technique for any given parameter value; Secondly, the new searching direction is obtained through the decoupled structure of the DAE model, in that case the SIB point under another parameter value can be traced accurately. Finally, a case study on the standard IEEE 12-bus system is studied for proving the effectiveness of the proposed method.
