Abstract
A transformerless IGBT PWM asymmetrical half-bridge is described that regulates the DC output current of a 3-phase diode rectifier operating with a DC voltage rail. This 2-switch bridge can be designed with low per-unit voltage ratings, typically 10-15%, lowers the size of LC filter components, and guarantees equal current sharing between parallel rectifiers connected to the same AC supply. The higher conduction losses introduced are offset by using low voltage devices with lower on-state voltage drops, smaller filter components and an improved performance is obtained under balanced and unbalanced AC supply conditions
