Abstract :
The internal flow of a cross-flow fan was simulated with computation fluid dynamic(CFD), and the influence of the structure parameters of volute tongue on the performance of the cross-flow fan was analyzed. The relationship between the structure parameters of volute tongue and the flow filed of the cross-flow fan was presented and the shape line of the volute tongue was optimized. A new shape line of volute tongue was found. The airflow volume flow rate using the volute tongue with new shape line was 10.9% higher than that using the original volute tongue. The calculated results were compared with the experimental results, and they had good agreement.
