Abstract
With the constant deep reform of our country´s educational system, the teaching quality evaluation has become an important links for the scientific teaching administration and the improvement of teaching quality. College English, an integral part of higher learning, is a required basic course for undergraduate students. As a part of English teaching, the English teaching evaluation is increasingly accepted and wildly applied as one of the means to ensure and promote the improvement of the quality of college English teaching. Based on the analysis of various kinds of related methods, this paper puts forward a model for English teaching assessment based on grey relational analysis. To overcome the problems of weights allocation and determination which exists on the mould of traditional grey relation analysis, a weighted grey relation analysis method was modified to solve the problems. The criteria weight obtained by applying analytical hierarchy process approach, and the grey relational analysis approach used to get the measure of college English teaching assessment are highly logical, practical and systemic. Theoretical and experimental results show that the model is effective and is also suitable for English teaching quality assessment in higher education.
