Abstract
With the opening up of the domestic gold market, gold mining companies are faced with challenges. The possession of resources cannot guarantee a competitive advantage. It has become vital for enterprises to evaluate, foster and develop their current core competence in order to sustain their advantageous positions in the market. This article attempts to establish a set of scientific evaluation indices system of core competence, and apply this improved fuzzy synthetic evaluation model to evaluate their core competence. This model avoids the information overlap caused by the fuzzy nature and complexity of the indices by the orthogonal transformation. It has adopted the entropy method to reduce subjectivity.
