Abstract :
Carbon Fiber-Reinforced Concrete (CFRC), which is also called smart concrete, is a new structural material capable of transmitting information. Its impermeability is a vital factor of the durability. The water infiltrating mechanism in CFRC is analyzed by utilizing hydrostatic process to test the impermeability of CFRC. Experimental results show that CFRC has different impermeabilities with different carbon quantities and lengths. We inspected water seepage pathways through the CFRC and derived a seepage calculation model. At last, we evaluated the impermeability of CFRC by using this model and forecasted the permeation height of CFRC structures in a project several years later.
