Study of investigating and improving negative space in an old urban block of Nanning city: Characteristics and formation causes of negative space

This study focuses on an old urban block called Water Street in a southern city of China - Nanning. Based on field investigation, etc., this paper discusses manifestation and disadvantageousness of negative space in the street, summarizes characteristics of negative space combining with relevant data, analyzes causes of negative space according to the aforementioned research, and provides foundations for comprehending negative space in the old urban block, transforming its spatial layout, etc.
