Abstract
We proposed a microring-based FBG-like filter using an ADM and a deeply etched Bragg grating. It helps select a wavelength for controlled reflection and sharp rejection. Filter bandwidth is determined by the resonator Q which is not affected by the reflector attachment. It can be readily applied to external cavity and microring lasers. Its structure is fully compatible with standard CMOS processes. Filters are under fabrication at IME for experimental demonstration.
