Abstract
This paper describes a near field reader antenna for UHF RFID applications. The frequency bands used in RFIDare the 900 MHz band and 865 MHz band The first part presents the basic requirements of an RFID system. The paper then presents the special complexities required for a near field application. A new type of antenna is described which meets the special requirements. Simulated results are presented. A full model of the antenna is also shown. The antenna has a low profile .It can be adapted to cover any specified area without adding extra readers.
