Abstract
Supporting digital video on wireless networks is challenging due to environmental factors and the complexity of VBR-coded video stream. System resource fluctuations become severe in case of handoff, and quality of service of video transmission will be degraded. We focus on various handoff schemes to analyze their impacts on video traffic. Packet level performances are introduced to monitor the quality of video transmission in a practical way. The real layer coded video stream is used and simulated. Simulation results are presented to compare different packet level performances in terms of packet delay and packet loss by using different handoff schemes
