Abstract :
A broadband IQ phase imbalance correction technique applied to complex demodulators is presented. The phase correction range of plusmn5 degrees and accuracy of 0.3 degrees were obtained with 4 bit resolution. The applications of the broadband IQ phase imbalance correction scheme are compensation of the phase errors originated in the LO poly-phase networks and image rejection mixers with image rejection above 40 dB. The power consumption of the IQ phase imbalance correction technique 14 mW and 20 mW were obtained in the 0.7 GHz - 4 GHz and 4 GHz - 6 GHz frequency ranges respectively in 0.18 mum CMOS technology.
